Overview
The Early Echoic Skills Assessment and Program Planner (EESAPP) is our upgraded digital platform for the Early Echoic Skills Assessment (EESA) — the echoic subtest built into the VB-MAPP. Whereas the standard EESA inside VB-MAPP simply captures echoic responses, EESAPP adds a full program-planner workpacket plus advanced audio tools. With EESAPP you can transcribe and record client responses, score items right in the app, export printable work-packets, and (coming soon!) leverage AI to automate scoring and analytics.

Keep in mind the EESA is currently in BETA mode meaning it isn't fully available to the public!
How It Builds on the Built-In EESA
Standard EESA: Available in VB-MAPP, measures early echoic (“repeat after me”) skills but relies on offline program planning/manual scoring.
EESAPP: A standalone, dedicated app that layers on:
Audio Recording & Transcription — capture each prompt/response pair in-app and get an editable transcript.
Integrated Scoring — mark correct/incorrect on the fly; see item-level data instantly.
Program Planner Workpacket — auto-populate goals, steps, and prompting hierarchies into a printable packet.
Progress Dashboards — session, weekly, and cumulative overviews with charts.
AI-Assisted Scoring (Coming Soon) — upload audio for natural-language scoring suggestions and error-analysis.
Who Uses EESAPP?
Behavior Analysts (BCBAs, BCaBAs): Streamlines echoic goal-setting and data collection.
Speech-Language Pathologists: Capture nuanced acoustic details and track vocalizing skills.
Early Interventionists & Special Educators: Build immediate work-packets and reinforce echoic programs.
Supervisors & Trainers: Review session recordings, provide feedback, and ensure fidelity.
Ownership & Collaboration
Data Makes The Difference (DataMTD) built EESAPP in partnership with Dr. Barbara Esch, author of the EESA and Early Echoic Skills Assessment and Program Planner Protocol. We work directly with Dr. Esch to keep the platform fully aligned with her protocol, research updates, and best practices.
